Ever since humans saw the birds fly, they daydreamt of flying. The first person to achieve this was Daedalus, father of Icarus and man who [Accidentally] helped give birth to the Minotaur. He was imprisoned atop a tower. Then, Daedalus and Icarus stick feathers to some wax. Icarus, who ignored his father's warnings, flew too close to the sun, and the wax melted, condemning him to a fatal fall.

Later, in the 11th Century, Eilmer of Malmesbury, inspired by his tragic death, flew off the top of his monastery, with fabric attached like a wingsuit, and flew for about 200 metres, before he plummeted, and broke both legs, being disabled for the rest of his life.
In the late 17th century, Besnier made a contraption that would be powered by his legs. he flew small distances.
In 1868, Jean-Marie Le Bris flew off a cliff in a winged boat, but crashed. In 1874, Félix du Temple built the first knowm steam-powered aeroplane. In 1889, Otto lillienthal was the first person to be photographed in flight. and in 1890, Clément Ader flew off on his Éole.In 1903, Orville and Wilbur Wright flew the very first plane powered by an engine. In 1909 Louis Blériot flew on his Blériot XI from Calais to Douvres. the flight lasted 39 minutes, but when he landed, his aircraft disintgrated upon landing.
